I would like to thank the organisers of MosBuild for inviting me to moderate the section on ‘The role of legislation in developing sustainable construction in Russia’ within the conference ‘Problems and Development Trends in Sustainable Construction in Russia’. The event was organised in a very professional way and the speakers were well chosen, covering the issue of legislation in the development of green building in Russia from different angles.  I hope that the organisers of MosBuild will continue to show interest in green construction and I look forward to productive cooperation in the future.

 

 

I was impressed by the organisation of the conference and speakers. As a result, the conference programme was current and interesting, which enabled the numerous market players to make realistic conclusions about what is now happening in Russia’s sustainable construction market. In the future I would like to see more green content within MosBuild – for example, specialised pavilions and seminars. In addition, the conference on green construction within MosBuild could become a good platform for interaction between market players and the authorities.          

 

Traditionally MosBuild has been one of the main events in the construction market. The conference ‘Problems and Development Trends in Sustainable Construction in Russia’ brought together all the leading players in green architecture and development.      

 

Thank you to the organisers of the DIY forum for their excellent preparation. The participants and speakers felt constant support from them. I would also like to give a special mention to the group of speakers whose presentations covered the most important aspects of the DIY market’s development.   

 

I spoke at a conference on the topic of sustainable and energy-efficient construction experience. During the event, there was the sense that a professional community has already been formed, which is engaged in addressing green building and energy-efficiency issues. It was nice to also see at the event the Russian Green Building Council headed by Guy Eames and other companies whose employees are engaged in the constant improvement of the regulatory framework, development of recommendations and regulatory guidelines, and research and implementation of global best practices in the field of sustainable construction. I am pleased that there are pilot projects in this area. Of course, this is only the beginning of the journey, but one already feels that there are efforts to promote this movement and these ideas.

 

 

I was pleased to see the interest of leading property market players in sustainable architecture and its prospects in Russia. The organisers of MosBuild 2012 held a conference on green technology. The event, which featured leading speakers, lasted the whole day and was very interesting and useful. The participants discussed a very wide range of issues, from changes in legislation to specific design projects and technical aspects of sustainable construction. I hope that the MosBuild exhibition becomes even more well-known as an excellent place for discussing sustainable architecture issues.      

 

Today a lot is spoken about energy efficiency, but few companies are prepared to share the results of their work in this field.  In this context I want to thank the organisers of MosBuild, who managed to invite the rarely appearing representatives of such companies, who not only speak about energy efficiency but also create it.
