Construction Industry Experts Made up to 80% of Total Visitors of the AstanaBuild 2005 Exhibition

On 18–20 May 2005, Astana saw the 7th Kazakhstan International Exhibition of Construction and Interiors, Heating and Ventilation AstanaBuild 2005.

The organisers of the Exhibition ascertain the success of the AstanaBuild 2005 Exhibition: a quantitative growth is noted of the numbers of exhibitors (by 15%) and visitors (by 40%), and an increase in the exhibition floor space — current exhibition displays covered 7,000 sqm. (a 40% increase).

On its 224 exposition displays, AstanaBuild 2005 hosted over 350 construction companies of 24 countries of the world: Austria, Byelorussia, Belgium, the UK, Germany, Denmark, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, the UAE, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, the USA, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Finland, France, and the Czech Republic. Just for comparison: last year on the AstanaBuild 2004 197 exposition displays about 300 companies were represented.

During these three exhibition days, AstanaBuild 2005 was visited by over 7,000 visitors, whereas last year their number was 5,000.

The assessment of efficiency of this recent AstanaBuild 2005 Exhibition has demonstrated that

  • 28% of all the exhibitors made contracts outright at the Exhibition;
  • 80% of the AstanaBuild 2005 visitors were construction industry experts and a half of their number were construction companies' managers;
  • 22% of the exhibitors daily established useful contacts with more than 50 companies, whereas 31% of these established 21 to 50 contacts and another 28% established 11 to 20 contacts a day.

82% of visitors confirmed that placement of the Exhibition Sections in the Alatau Sports Palace and in the Congress Hall added convenience for visiting these locations. We take the liberty of reminding you that in the Congress Hall the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems, Interiors, Lighting Facilities, and Sanitary Ware sections were deployed. The Alatau Sports Palace hosted the Building Materials, Construction Machinery, Equipment and Tools, Windows and Doors, Ceramics, and many other sections.

It is noteworthy that a half of the exhibitors (51%) were construction industry producers and 15% of their numbers were Kazakhstani manufacturers.

Of the total number of AstanaBuild 2005 exhibitors, 16% were from the far-away foreign countries, 24% companies were from CIS countries, and Kazakhstani companies amassed to 60%. 41% of total exhibitors were first-comers to the Exhibition in Astana, which fact has yet another time confirmed not merely the rapid development of the construction industry and market capacity but also a very high competitive ability of Astana's construction market.

Many a visitor's attention was attracted by new construction industry technologies and innovations represented at the AstanaBuild 2005 Exhibition, in which number there are such Kazakhstani companies as Neo Group (local manufacture of shower booths), Erlan Brick Works (manufacture of porous heat-resistant brick), Ecoton+ Plant (manufacture of cellular concrete items from environmentally clean natural materials), and many others.

The construction industry specialists were offered an extensive programme of workshops and presentations. For example, in the Alatau Sports Palace presentations were held of such companies as: Chrysolite Association (Kazakhstan), Tramax (Kazakhstan / US), Lamed (Kazakhstan), etc. The Congress Hall saw workshops of such companies as: Taira (Russia), Ul-Ai (Kazakhstan), Danfoss (Denmark), etc.

88% of all the visitors are interested in visiting the AstanaBuild 2006 Exhibition and 55% of the exhibiting companies have confirmed their participation and booked the exhibition floor space.

The official support to AstanaBuild 2005 was provided by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Building and Utilities Committee of the RK Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Astana City Akimat.

Information support to AstanaBuild 2005 was rendered by CIS leading industry-wise and socio-political periodicals, of which 36 are Kazakhstani mass media and 16 are Russian and Ukrainian ones.

The Exhibition was traditionally held by the group of exhibition companies: ITE Group PLC (UK), Iteca (Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and the Caucasus), GIMA (Germany), EUF Company (Turkey), and Invernizzi Int. (Italy).
