New exhibitor case study: Diffusion Ceramique


French brand Diffusion Ceramique have been creating original and high-quality tiles and stones for 40 years and are stocked in around 700 retailers.

The company are the manufacturer of the original metro tiles and are the official supplier of metro tiles to the Parisian Metropolitan.

2019 was Diffusion Ceramique’s first time exhibiting at MosBuild as part of their new Ceramics sector, here’s what Mathilde Bray, Import Director, thought of their time at the show.
 

Mathilde, why did you decide to take part in MosBuild and what are your objectives?

We have a reseller in Moscow so I thought we could come and see what the Russian market was like. We’re here to find people from big towns in Russia that could sell our products and so far it’s going well. 
 

Who are you looking to meet at the show? 

Architects, resellers, designers. We’ve met a lot of people already, we’re very happy about this. The show has been good, it’s been very busy, way busier than expected. I was expecting about 50 people a day and I think I’ve seen about 200 a day so it’s great.


 

What are the benefits of exhibiting at MosBuild for you Diffusion Ceramique?

I didn’t know we were so well known in Russia because many people have been saying that they know of us. It’s good to show off our company and our products which I think are quite different from what other people are showcasing. It’s important for finding contacts on the Russian market. 

It is worth it. There really is huge potential to meet Russians who are eager to see what you sell, to talk to you and ask questions, more than in France. Having a translator has been really useful. 
 

What are your reasons for expanding into Russia?

Because we already have 700 shops in France and the only way to expand is by going abroad. We are based in the South of France and there are many Russians there who like our products.
 

How optimistic are you about the growth of your business over the next few years?

Quite optimistic; I would say we have a lot of potential to double or even triple our sales in Russia.
 

What is your competitive advantage on the Russian market?

That we can take care of absolutely everything, including shipping. We also don’t have a minimum limit on quantity so we can ship just one pallet individually if needs be.


 

How receptive do you find the Russian market to your products?

Russian customers really seem to like them. Our products are quite original, we have colourful and premium products.
 

What advice would you give to other companies looking to enter the Russian market?

Really invest in your products; if you have original products, then they’ll do well.
